"I was introduced to Fraser Island by Bill Henderson and his quirky walking tours. It is a golden memory. Anybody could design a walking tour, but Bill loves the island and is excited by it and this makes a unique, fun and informative trip. I'd recommend this tour to anybody for two reasons: 1) Fraser island is fantastic - it has rainforest, sand dunes, lakes, creeks and dingoes (this might not be exciting for Aussies but it is for a Pom). 2) Bill is one of the funniest people I have ever met, and I am very glad that I have had the chance to spend time in his company. To know him is a pleasure, and I'd say that to make his acquaintance is as much an attraction of his tour as Fraser Island itself. He is a grand host, guide and entertainer." Lucia, Oxfordshire UK |

Leaving the Lake Wabby campsite we head south through scribbly gum and other eucalypt forest. It’s a steady climb before we descend again into some of the most spectacular tall open forest and then rainforest in the island’s southern lakes area before you reach the shores of stunning Lake McKenzie. Take a refreshing swim in its clear waters or a stroll along its magical white beach… this truly is one of the world’s most spectacular fresh-water lakes. It is here that we camp the night. What a privilege! |
