Your GuidesThe four- and five-day Footprints on Fraser walking tours are limited to an intimate group of eight walkers and led by experienced, knowledgeable and gregarious guides. The main character you'll have the pleasure of meeting is Bill. It is thanks to Bill’s vision and perseverance that special approval from the Queensland Parks & Wildlife Service was gained to conduct extended walking tours on Fraser Island. As the instigator, Bill is your host and camp coordinator. You’ll love his free spirited nature and be inspired by his passion for the island. An optimist and gifted communicator, you will sincerely enjoy his company and learn to view Fraser Island as he does – as a living entity. |
Another face you will get to know well during your four or five day tour is Jenny. A talented visual artist with a lifelong passion for the natural environment, her interests include ecology, renewable energy systems, alternative agriculture and (most importantly) serving up a great meal! She believes in honouring the 'spirit' in nature, seeing the interconnectedness of all things and walking lightly upon the earth. Jenny has a special connection with coastal heathland areas and never tires of sharing some of the inspiring beauty and grandeur of Fraser Island. Keith is the third of the musketeers. A typical Australian bushman, Keith is happiest when he’s in the wilderness of Fraser Island or somewhere in outback Queensland sleeping under the stars in a swag. He has excellent bush skills and is trained in off-road driving with the Queensland Rural Fire Service. Keith is an experienced and congenial camp cook and host. |
